What does the sea sound like when the rest of the world falls silent? A woman closes her eyes

and listens, her headphones held close as her blue hair streams outward like an incoming tide.

Turquoise, violet and inky strands stretch across a warm peach background. Fine, wandering

lines resemble both sound waves and currents, merging music with the sensation of salt air.

Her closed eyes turn the entire composition inward. The flowing hair is more than a decorative

element: it appears to carry rhythm, memory and emotion beyond the boundaries of the figure.

Against the warm peach ground, the cool blue strands become a visual expression of sound

itself.

This painting is about the precious ability to retreat into one's own world for a few minutes. Its

flowing horizontal composition brings movement to a wall, while the subject offers a softer
