Talk to the Town (Marilyn Monroe series)

Acrylic on canvas | 51cm (W) × 61cm (H) × 3.8cm (D) | Ready to hang

ARTWORK STORY // DESCRIPTION

Marilyn is rarely allowed to be ordinary. Talk to the Town embraces the glamour and public

fascination that have followed her image for generations.

The portrait belongs to a contemporary pop-art conversation about fame: a face can become

instantly recognisable while the person behind it remains elusive. The work invites both

admiration and curiosity.

The portrait invites us to think about the extraordinary life of an image. Marilyn's face has

travelled through film, photography, fashion and art, becoming a public symbol far beyond any

single moment. This painting enters that visual conversation with a contemporary sense of

personality.

Its title hints at the constant discussion that surrounds celebrity: admiration, curiosity and the

stories people invent. A bold choice for a room that enjoys pop culture, portraiture and a little

theatrical flair.

Marilyn Monroe has become an image recognised almost before it is truly seen. Talk to the Town

plays with that instant familiarity, inviting the viewer to consider the conversations, rumours and

admiration that gather around a public figure.

The portrait is therefore about more than celebrity glamour. It reflects the strange life of an

image that belongs to popular culture while still suggesting a person behind it. The title gives the

work a lively social energy and a subtle edge of curiosity.

A charismatic focal point for a modern, personality-filled interior.
