A Game with Yarn

Acrylic on canvas | 40cm (W) × 50cm (H) × 1.8cm (D) | Ready to hang

ARTWORK STORY // DESCRIPTION

A Game with Yarn is a tangle worth following. Its wandering lines seem to loop, snag and escape

like thread in playful hands.

The composition celebrates the pleasure of making without knowing exactly where a line will

lead. Each crossing creates another little event, and the whole surface becomes a record of

curiosity.

The eye follows one imagined thread, loses it, and finds another. Lines seem to wander across

the surface like yarn slipping between fingers, producing knots, loops and sudden turns. The

movement is playful, but the accumulated crossings create a surprisingly intricate visual

structure.

There is pleasure in a game that has no fixed rules or final score. This painting celebrates

curiosity and improvisation, making it a lively addition to a creative studio, family space or

informal modern interior.

Yarn has a way of escaping neat control. It twists, loops, tangles and creates unexpected

shapes, which makes it a wonderfully apt image for an abstract composition. A Game with Yarn

finds delight in that apparent disorder.

The painting can be approached like a visual puzzle, with the eye tracing one route before

discovering another. Its sense of play is genuine, but the accumulated crossings also suggest

connection and complexity. What looks spontaneous from afar becomes intricate and

absorbing up close.
