A Dream of Ice

Acrylic on canvas | 60cm (W) × 90cm (H) × 2cm (D) | Ready to hang

ARTWORK STORY // DESCRIPTION

A Dream of Ice imagines winter not as harshness, but as a landscape of delicate light.

Cool tones and quieter passages suggest frost suspended in air, while the abstract treatment

softens the boundary between landscape and dream. The effect is reflective rather than cold.

Ice can be sharp and forbidding, yet this painting finds a softer, dreamlike quality in its cool

atmosphere. The suggestion of frost and pale light creates a sense of quiet suspension, as

though the world has been briefly held still.

The work invites the viewer to experience winter through mood rather than temperature. Its

restrained character can balance warmer furnishings and bring a refreshing visual calm to a

contemporary bedroom or living space.

Ice has the power to transform a landscape by softening its sounds and sharpening its light. A

Dream of Ice draws on that suspended atmosphere. The painting seems to belong to the

moment when everything becomes quiet enough for tiny changes to matter.

There is beauty in its restraint. Instead of the heat and rush of more exuberant works, this one

offers distance, coolness and a gentle feeling of stillness. It is an invitation to imagine a world

temporarily freed from noise.

A calm visual counterpoint to warm timber, natural fabrics and sunlit rooms.
